wrong country, no dinho flicks

so while ronnie, deco and larsson (replaced messi he did when the teenager pulled up with a hamstring injury) are running the chelski defense ragged, i am writing a post in frustration. why? because of the market, because of the country. because espn are showing the world baseball championships game between dominica and venezuela (which is good for baseball fans, even though they werent present at buffalo wild wings today) and espn 2 is showing some confounded basketball reality sob series instead of a live football match. i am sure it makes financial sense but wey, it makes no sense to this fan of football. especially since he went to the pub for lunch and 'checked' the listings there on the off chance that the web reported listings were wrong and then rationalized, based on a combination of not having done all the readings and a general malaise and a desire to watch perhaps two of the top club sides in the world work out their grudges, that it would be pretty fine to run out on class today. upset i am.

so i am content to be doing readings that i would otherwise be hearing about for free in class and pressing F5 at any chance to refresh the guardian page. i swear, i live in the wrong country. i wonder what makes me cringe more;two years ago i had the same experience except instead of basketball reality show (how some teenage turd went from rags to nonsense riches by practising everyday- isnt that how it always works?) they were showing bass fishing. now that is a touch of class. the listing wonks at espn2 deserve a good trashing. i am sure that the bean counters have factored in their digits and found out that real soccer fans would stay up and watch the match at 1230 am when it is rebroadcast so that noone will be disturbed by it. money talks.

but a live champions league match? another reason to go home.
