is groupthink ever good?

in certain situations, one could argue so. when a unified, timely decision needs to be enforced, for example. when there needs to be ample support after the decision, once could imagine that this would be easier if everybody agreed to it first, assuming that initial agreement would be tantamount to lasting support.

nobody is here in ann arbor. everybody is gone. well, there are one two people, and that is all that is needed. but ann arbor becomes even smaller in the summer. it is like the city, tiny as it is, closes in around you even more...almost to the point of suffocation. it is not healthy either that the low paying make me wanna be a mule research job is like an exercise in mental retardation. luckily JW and not being in an office helps with that. schop's mystery, the guy is genius. but otherwise, might as well die die lah this place. i think i should head home soon.

it has even driven me to think about online betting for the world cup. i shall start with wednesday. money is on henry. there probably is a way of getting better odds for this, but i am too lazy to fandangle my way into a british account so that i could play on ladbrokes or one of the numerous offerings there.
